Introduction

The Department of Health is seeking two dedicated and reliable Human Resource Clerks to join our Human Resource Management team. This role offers a great opportunity for those with a passion for HR and public service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Human Resource Administration:
    • Implement and administer HR practices such as conditions of service, leave, housing, medical aid, service termination, long service recognition, transfers, pensions, and other allowances.
    • Capture and audit leave.
    • Manage overtime, night shift, standby, etc.
  • Grievance and Disciplinary Procedures:
    • Handle grievance and disciplinary procedures.
    • Coordinate various HR meetings.
  • Skills Development:
    • Basic knowledge of skills development and coordination of training matters.
  • PILIR:
    • Understand the Policy and Procedure on Incapacity Leave and Ill-health Retirement (PILIR).
    • Conduct various HR workshops.
  • Performance Management:
    • Coordinate PMDS matters including monitoring compliance.
    • Control attendance registers of all staff in the institution.
  • Filing and Record Management:
    • Render effective filing and record management services.
    • Operate office machines related to the registry function.
    • Perform retrieval and disposal of records.
    • Handle incoming and outgoing postage.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Relieve in other sections within the registry.
    • Conduct physical verification of staff.
    • Manage all AG matters.
    • Perform other lawful duties as delegated by the supervisor.

 



 

Requirements

  • Education:
    • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience:
    • Exposure in human resource management will be an added advantage.
    • Possession of a Persal Certificate will be an added advantage.
    • Priorities will be given to EPWP/Interns.
  • Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of the Public Service Act and Regulations, Skills Development Act, PFMA, Labour Relations Act, PMDS, PSCBC Resolutions, etc.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to communicate well with people at different levels and different backgrounds.
    • Sound organizational skills and high reliability.
    • Ability to handle information confidentially.
    • Sound verbal and written communication skills.
    • Good telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
    • Document management skills.
    • Office administration competency.
    • Ability to work under pressure and take initiative.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Self-motivated and able to organize and plan.
    • Knowledge and application of the Batho Pele Principles.
