Location: Tygerberg Hospital, Parow Valley

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and inspect Household Aids’ duties.
• Schedule housekeeping duty rosters.
• Ensure proper segregation and removal of waste.
• Maintain hygiene and tidiness in wards and hospital units.
• Order and control cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Oversee linen sorting and management.
• Support both nursing and non-nursing staff at the ward level.
• Perform hospital hygiene audits and enforce infection control standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std 7).
• Experience:
  • Relevant housekeeping experience in a hospital environment.
  • Supervisory experience in a similar role.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to supervise and manage subordinates effectively.
• Proficiency in hospital waste and linen management.
• Strong adherence to safety and infection control standards.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (e.g., lifting heavy equipment).
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and night duty.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.

Remuneration

Annual Salary: R183,279 – R215,892
Benefits: 13th cheque, employer pension fund contribution, housing, and medical aid allowance.
