Job Description

  • Perform tasks related to plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, glazing, and building maintenance.
  • Maintain and repair general kitchen and laundry equipment.
  • Ensure the regular maintenance, repair, and cleaning of drains.
  • Strict adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Assist Artisans with projects, repairs, and workshop tasks.
  • Control tools, equipment, and materials used during operations.

 



 

 

Requirements

  • Grade 10 or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant experience in building, air-conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, painting, electrical work, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Familiarity with workshop-related tasks and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Ability to operate industrial machinery, perform welding tasks, and handle heavy equipment, heights, and narrow spaces.
  • A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license.

 



 

 

Key Attributes

  • Willingness to assist across various facilities within the sub-district workshop setup.
  • Ability to perform stand-by duties as required.

Salary and Benefits

Annual salary: R183,279 – R215,892, plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer’s pension contribution, housing and medical aid allowance).

  • Shortlisted candidates may be required to undergo a practical test as part of the interview process.
  • A pool of applicants may be considered for similar posts within the Drakenstein Sub-District for three months from the advert date.
