Nova Pioneer Schools are recruiting Intern Educational Psychologists for 2027 through the ISASA vacancy platform. The internship is designed for postgraduate psychology students who are completing or preparing to complete their Master’s in Educational or Counselling Psychology and need supervised internship experience as part of their professional registration requirements.
Interns will work in a school-based psychosocial support environment, gaining hands-on experience in assessment, counselling, intervention, and multidisciplinary teamwork. The internship focuses on developing future educational psychologists through structured supervised practice in a school setting. Interns will work under qualified educational psychologists and participate in learner support services across primary and secondary school levels.

Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Work under direct supervision of qualified educational psychologists
- Conduct psycho-educational assessments
- Provide individual therapeutic support (including trauma and emotional support)
- Facilitate group interventions and social-emotional learning programmes
- Support learners with academic and emotional challenges
- Attend Student Support Team (SST) meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate clinical and case records
- Uphold ethical standards as required by HPCSA
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be completing or near completion of a Master’s degree in Educational or Counselling Psychology
- Have an internship programme approved by the Professional Board for Psychology (HPCSA)
- Be registered or eligible to register as an HPCSA Intern Psychologist by January 2027
- Have supervised experience in psychological assessment and therapeutic work
- Be willing to work across multiple school campuses if required
