Stock Clerk

Essential Health Pharmacy in Kuils River is recruiting a Stock Clerk to support the receiving department and ensure the efficient movement of goods into the pharmacy. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately receiving, verifying and capturing incoming stock, managing supplier returns, supporting stock counts and maintaining effective stockroom and receiving processes.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Mathematics: 50%.
• Mathematics Literacy: 60%.
• Languages: 50%.
• Basic computer literacy and MS Office skills.
• Basic Excel skills.
• Willingness and ability to work retail hours.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving and Stock Control

• Verify, scan and capture physical goods receipts accurately according to company policies and SOPs.
• Receive all goods and invoices.
• Check expiry dates and storage requirements of incoming products.
• Prevent and return unordered or damaged goods delivered to the store.
• Complete credit notes accurately for goods that are not accepted.
• Verify deliveries and invoices for consistency.
• Confirm that goods delivered match the goods invoiced and captured in terms of quantities, variants and condition.
• Ensure deliveries are intended for the correct store.
• Check that delivery notes and invoice details agree.
• Maintain the flow of stock receipts through the receiving department.
• Ensure deliveries are receipted on the same day and sent to the sales floor.
• Accurately capture all goods on invoices.
• Verify and check invoices.
• Capture all invoices for goods received according to operating policies.

Returns and Credits

• Dispatch supplier returns for collection when the required pick-up slip is presented.
• Process supplier returns in accordance with company SOPs.
• Follow up with service assistants regarding the collection of supplier returns.
• Assist the Stock Controller with the management of:
  • Credit notes
  • Supplier returns
  • Warehouse credits
  • Monthly vendor return lists
• Execute the credits process according to company procedures.

Stock Counts and Administration

• Accurately perform cycle counts and stock takes.
• Maintain effective document flow, including capturing and filing.
• Ensure physical controls over the goods receiving area are in place and operational.
• Support the Stock Controller and Store Manager in keeping storerooms orderly.
• Ensure unauthorised access is not permitted through the goods receiving area.
• Assist with the management and control of high-risk stock.

Skills and Competencies

Essential

• Knowledge of receiving operating procedures.
• Knowledge of administration.
• Strong investigation skills.
• Basic computer and Excel skills.

Advantageous

• Unisolv knowledge.
• Bilingual communication skills.
• 2–3 years’ experience in a similar environment.
