The Western Cape Provincial Treasury is committed to addressing critical skills shortages by empowering youth through education. Since launching the bursary programme in 2008, the department has helped young people gain access to tertiary education, developing a pipeline of future-ready professionals.
Fields of Study
Bursaries are available to Grade 12 learners, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in pursuing careers in:
- Economics
- Finance
- Accounting & Auditing
- Supply Chain Management
- Built Environment & Project Management
(Preferably Construction Economics/Management, Transport Economics, Population Studies, or related) - Information Sciences, Data Science & Statistics
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for a full-time bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen residing in the Western Cape
- Be aged between 17 and 35 years
- Have obtained a minimum of 65% average in your most recent year of study (school or university)
- Not be a recipient of any other bursary or state funding
- Postgraduate applicants must already hold a B. Degree in one or more of the listed fields
- People with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply
