Introduction
The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government, is seeking a qualified and competent individual to fill the position of Accounting Clerk in the Governance department.

Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification)
Key Performance Areas:
- Financial Accounting transactions: Receive invoices, check for correctness, verify and process invoices, filing of documents, collection of cash
- Salary Administration support services: Receive and process salary advices, file all documents
- Bookkeeping support services: Capture financial transactions, clear suspense accounts, record debtors and creditors, process electronic banking transactions, compile journals
- Budget support service: Collect budget information, compare expenditure against budget, identify variances, capture virements on budgets, distribute budget-related documents, file all documents
- Receive and capture cash payments
Competencies:
- Understanding of financial functions, practices, and data capture
- Knowledge of Public Service financial legislations, procedures, and Treasury regulations
- Written and verbal communication skills
Remuneration:
R 202 233 per annum (Salary level 5)
