General Assistant

Introduction

The Gfleet Corporate Services (Facilities and Security) is looking for two General Assistants to support daily operations. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with ABET Level 4, looking to work in facilities maintenance and general support services.

Salary: R138,486 per annum + benefits (Level 2)

Minimum Requirements

• ABET Level 4 (Adult Basic Education and Training)
• No prior experience required

Key Responsibilities

• Move and transport furniture and equipment safely, using appropriate trolleys and protective coverings.
• Assist in venue setups for events.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment.
• Collect and manage waste disposal, ensuring timely collection by Ekurhuleni Municipality.
• Inspect facilities daily and report defects and faults to the Facilities Help Desk.
• Monitor gardens and cleanliness of the premises.
• Oversee service providers when performing their duties.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies during all tasks.

Required Competencies & Skills

• Physical ability to lift and move furniture/equipment
• Basic maintenance and repair skills
• Strong observation and reporting abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Understanding of OHS regulations
