Purpose of the Job
The Shoprite Group of Companies is looking for a Regional Manager to take accountability for all the Meat Markets in the region. Key responsibilities include controlling and monitoring the quality of activities and produce in Meat Markets, ensuring hygienic and safety processes, managing promotional activities, and reporting on sales activities and completing administrative duties for the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Control:
    • Monitor the quality of all activities and produce in Meat Markets.
  • Stock Management:
    • Manage all stock in the region.
  • Hygiene and Safety:
    • Monitor the hygiene and safety processes in the region.
  • People Management:
    • Perform people management functions for the region.
  • Promotional Activities:
    • Drive and manage all promotional activities in the region.
  • Sales Reporting and Administration:
    • Report on all sales activities and complete administrative duties for the region.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Grade 12 or equivalent.

Experience

  • Essential: 2 years of management experience in the meat industry, inclusive of butchery operational experience.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Essential:
    • Knowledge of meat cuts/products.
    • IR (Industrial Relations) knowledge.
    • FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) principles.
    • Merchandising standards and principles.
    • Knowledge of Meat Market operations.
    • Knowledge of Meat Market hygiene and safety standards.
