Introduction

The Department of Health is looking for six dedicated and reliable Food Service Aids to join our Cook Freeze Factory team. This role is crucial in ensuring the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meal Preparation:
    • Prepare normal and therapeutic diets according to standardized recipes.
    • Portion meals according to ration scale and prescription.
  • Hygiene and Safety:
    • Apply hygiene and safety measures in the factory according to HACCP rules and OHS standards.
    • Lift heavy food service equipment.
  • Resource Management:
    • Be responsible for all allocated resources.
  • Flexibility:
    • Be able to relieve in all areas of the Cook Freeze factory when required.
    • Must be willing to undergo continuous training and development programs.

 



 

 

Requirements

  • Education:
    • NQF Level 2 or Grade 10 or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience:
    • Food service experience in a clinical/hospital environment will be an added advantage.
    • Priorities will be given to EPWP/Interns.
  • Skills:
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a team and under stressful conditions.
    • Must be able to work weekends, nightshift, and public holidays.
    • Knowledge and application of the Batho Pele Principles.
