Purpose of the Job

The Pricing Data Analyst will perform and build analysis of pricing developments and translate these into actionable insights to support the category management team in achieving commercial and revenue goals. The role involves gathering, consolidating, and analyzing complex data to produce insights, predictions, recommendations, and reports to optimize pricing strategies. Additionally, the role supports the Category Insights team with ad hoc reporting and input to analytics tool development, monitoring, utilization, and training.

Key Responsibilities

Data and Competitor Analysis and Pricing Strategy

  • Assist in creating reports and recalculating metrics, including competitor analysis, category roles, Key Value Items (KVIs), and target price indices.
  • Update tool files from pricing strategy refreshes to ensure strategies remain current and relevant.
  • Coordinate with Analytical Engineer on competitor data source updates.

 



 

 

Item Relationships Support

  • Monitor updates related to new Stock Keeping Units (SKUs), updated SKUs, incorrect item relationships, and dead/delisted SKUs in SAP.
  • Manage the follow-up process and organize weekly meetings to ensure alignment on dependencies.
  • Provide ad-hoc assistance to Category Specialists and investigate incorrect item relationships flagged by Buyers.

Tool Development, Monitoring, Utilization, and Training

  • Create monthly tool usage reports to identify areas with high percentage overrides.
  • Support buying teams in creating plans, monitoring new plans, and investigating overrides.
  • Provide input for new functionality developments on the tool and support the definition of training materials and schedules.

Ad hoc Support

  • Support the Category Insights Manager and the Head of Category Management in handling exceptions and generating weekly reports.

 



 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field (Essential).

Experience

  • 1+ years’ experience in a Data Analyst or similar role, applying data analysis techniques in a fast-paced environment (Essential).
  • Experience in data mining, modeling, and applying mathematical and statistical concepts to support strategic business objectives (Essential).
  • Experience in a retail, commercial, or IT environment (Highly desired).

 



 

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, and data analysis toolkits (Essential).
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office 365 with advanced Excel skills (Essential).
