Introduction

Minimum Requirements

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience as an Artisan after obtaining the Trade Test certificate.

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate Trade Test Certificate.

License:

  • Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively coordinate and manage the Maintenance department at Victoria Hospital.
  • Ensure the development of staff within the Maintenance department.
  • Repair all equipment and installations.
  • Oversee production work.
  • Ensure the efficient maintenance of hospital equipment.

Competencies

  • Good computer literacy skills.
  • Knowledge of maintenance in the health sector.
  • Understanding of relevant policies and legislation related to the Health department, particularly the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Experience in customer care and reporting on maintenance issues.

Remuneration

  • Salary: Grade A: R 362 130 – R 410 592 per annum
  • Benefits: Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing, and medical aid allowance).

  • Shortlisted candidates may be required to undergo a competency assessment.
  • The pool of applicants will be considered for other vacant Artisan Foreman posts within the Chief Directorate Metro Health Services for a period of 3 months from the date of the advert.
