Job Description

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a Claims team, focusing on non-risk claims. You will play a critical role in driving positive customer outcomes and achieving operational targets. The position requires an individual who is accountable for achieving results through others over periods of 1 day to 3 months. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing daily operational delivery within a specific functional area, ensuring client service and administrative excellence.
• Maintaining and enhancing service and work standards through a team of specialized staff, optimizing given processes.
• Driving operational excellence and owning efficiency, quality, and operational scorecard targets, including people management.
• Managing employee well-being and morale and handling people processes such as Recruitment, Performance Management, and Talent Management.
• Making technical decisions and managing work volumes and flow within the function.
• Implementing effective operational processes and establishing strong client/customer relationships.
• Building relationships with peers, colleagues, and stakeholders across business areas and the value chain.
• Leading operational projects, potentially taking accountability for implementing specific strands of these projects.
• Managing a team of 15 to 25 staff, which may include some specialist roles.

Role Qualifications and Experience

• Matric (essential)
• Experience with process improvement methodologies
• Experience in leading people and managing teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Proven ability to work independently and proactively
• Passionate team player
• Computer literacy (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)
• Excellent reporting skills
