Introduction
The Western Cape Department of Infrastructure is seeking a detail-oriented Administration Clerk to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Directorate: Education Infrastructure. This role involves assisting with various clerical duties and supporting professional staff in their operational tasks.

Salary: R216,417 per annum (Salary Level 5)
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification)
- Recommendation: Computer literacy
Key Responsibilities
- Support professional staff with administrative tasks, including filing, GG transport, handling telephone accounts, and processing invoices.
- Assist with ordering and managing stationery supplies and processing payments.
- Compile claims, manage correspondence, and conduct copying, filing, faxing, and scanning within the department.
- Draft and type submissions, default letters, and general correspondence.
- Organize meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and coordinate training requirements.
- Relieve as a secretary and arrange travel plans as needed.
Competencies and Skills
- Knowledge of: Clerical duties, Public Service legislation, and working procedures in a government environment.
- Skills: Strong record-keeping, written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Abilities: To meet deadlines, work under pressure, and assist with various clerical tasks efficiently.
