SPAR Retail Stores Pty Ltd, a division of the SPAR Group Ltd, is recruiting a Fresh Food Manager to lead and optimize the service departments at SPAR Norwood, ensuring excellence in operational performance and customer satisfaction.

Position Purpose

The Fresh Food Manager will be responsible for planning, controlling, and monitoring service department operations, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Department Targets & Profitability: Manage and meet targets for all service departments, enhancing profitability.
• Stock Management: Oversee stock levels, including ordering, storage, and inventory control.
• Pricing & POS Management: Ensure pricing accuracy and efficiency at Point of Sale.
• Promotions: Coordinate and execute promotional activities for service departments.
• Hygiene & Housekeeping: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in all areas.
• Staff Management: Supervise, train, and develop service department employees.
• Customer Engagement: Foster positive customer interactions, addressing issues and enhancing the shopping experience.
• Store Operations: Responsible for opening and closing the store.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Matric or NQF level 4 equivalent and/or a recognized technical qualification.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related role.
• Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Product knowledge and operational skills
  • Team player with resilience and the ability to work long hours and shifts as needed
