Position: Primary Health Care Administrative Support Officer

  • Employment Type: Permanent

  • Location: Khayelitsha Community Health Centre, Western Cape
  • Salary: R376,413 – R443,403 per annum (includes service benefits such as a 13th cheque, employer pension contribution, housing, and medical aid allowances).

 



 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and management support to the Facility Manager and nearby Community Day Centres (CDCs).
  • Manage financial operations including budget control and compliance.
  • Supervise and manage staff effectively.
  • Oversee facility Health Information, People Management, Supply Chain Management, and related support services such as:
    • Cleaning, Security, Waste Management, Grounds Maintenance, and Asset Management.
    • Infrastructure, IT equipment, and minor projects (e.g., hygiene projects).
  • Coordinate transport and fleet services.
  • Act as Labour Relation Liaison to the Facility Manager, Unit Managers, and staff.
  • Represent the facility in safety, security, quality assurance, OHS/IPC, and other support-related meetings at institutional and provincial levels.

 



 

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Matric Certificate plus an appropriate National Certificate (NQF 5).
  • Experience: Recognizable supervisory experience in a Primary Health Care environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong managerial, supervisory, and decision-making abilities.
    • Knowledge of legislation and policies relevant to public health support services.
    • Proficient in disciplinary and conflict management.
    • Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office and systems such as BAS/LOGIS, PERMIS, and IPWIS.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid Code B/EB driver’s license.
    • Willingness to work after hours when needed.
