Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support services to patients, the public, supervisor, and staff.
  • Record and capture all patient information and activities (admission and discharge) accurately and promptly on Clinicom.
  • Ensure effective revenue collection, including receipting payments, issuing receipts, and handling account queries.
  • Capture charge entries and update the Hectis system.
  • Manage the drawing and filing of medical records.
  • Relieve duties at the queuing marshal/helpdesk as needed.

 



 

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualification: Senior Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Appropriate experience in patient administration within a healthcare environment.
  • Additional Requirements: Willingness to work overtime and 12-hour shifts (including night duty, weekends, and public holidays).

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of the following systems and protocols:
    • Hospital Fees Memorandum Chapter 18
    • PFMA
    • Hectis
    • UPFS
    • Clinicom
    • Finance instructions

Remuneration

Annual Salary: R216,417 – R254,928
Benefits: 13th cheque, employer pension fund contribution, housing, and medical aid allowance.

 



 

 

Additional Information

  • The pool of applicants will also be considered for similar vacant posts within the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services for a period of 3 months from the advertisement date.
  • Candidates may undergo written, practical, or oral assessments.
