Driver’s License Testing Officers (X2)
Introduction
Stellenbosch Municipality is seeking two Driver’s License Testing Officers to join their Traffic Services division within the Community & Protection Services Directorate. If you meet the requirements and have a passion for upholding road safety standards, this could be the perfect role for you!

- Salary: R 287 387.35 – R 373 022.34 plus benefits
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Registered Grade A Examiner of Licenses
- Valid Code A & EC Driving License
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience
- Computer literacy in MS Windows, MS Office, NATIS & Intranet
Other Requirements
- Ability to work under challenging conditions while maintaining professionalism
- Strong decision-making and administrative skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle conflict effectively
- Medically fit with a strong customer service focus
- In-depth knowledge of the K-53 system, National Road Act, and other relevant legislation
- Commitment to combating fraud and corruption
- No prior involvement in fraudulent activities or resignation due to such actions
- Own transport is essential
- Proficiency in at least two of the three official Western Cape languages (English, Afrikaans, Xhosa)
Key Responsibilities
- Testing applicants for Learner’s & Driver’s Licenses
- Conducting eye tests and verifying learner’s license question papers
- Authorizing learner’s and driver’s licenses
- Processing driver’s license renewals and foreign license conversions
- Handling applications for PDPs and Instructor Certificates
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant road and licensing regulations
- Identifying and reporting any malpractice or violations
- Adhering to Health & Safety requirements
