Introduction

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is hiring a Store Cleaner for a fixed-term contract at their Table View store. This role is crucial in maintaining the store’s cleanliness and hygiene to Dis-Chem’s high standards.

 



 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Cleaning: Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the store, including the shop floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and canteen.
  • Routine Development: Establish and follow routines to ensure all areas are cleaned and well-maintained.
  • Canteen & Restrooms: Ensure these areas are clean and stocked with necessary products.
  • Operational Hours: Be available throughout store hours for additional cleaning as required.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to Health and Safety Regulations, including using appropriate cleaning products and equipment.

 



 

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Experience: At least 6 months of cleaning experience.
  • Language Skills: Sound command of English; an additional area-specific language is advantageous.
  • Retail Hours: Willingness to work retail hours.

Advantageous Skills

  • Bilingual: Additional languages are beneficial.
  • Retail Experience: Previous experience in retail store cleaning is preferred.

  • Customer Service: Friendly and professional interaction with customers.
  • Trustworthiness: Reliable and honest with a strong work ethic.
  • Physical Fitness: Able to handle the physical demands of the role.

Special Conditions

  • Physical Requirements: Must be fit for various physical tasks such as walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, and moving objects.
  • Location: Reliable transport or proximity to the store is required.
  • Clear Records: South African citizenship and clear credit and criminal records are mandatory.
