Introduction

The Department of Co-Operative Governance and Traditional Affairs is looking for dedicated individuals to join their team as Community Development Workers. This is an exciting opportunity to engage directly with communities, understand their needs, and drive impactful development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Education: Matric/ NQF level 4 qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-year experience in Community Development Work.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, communication, computer, facilitation, problem-solving, organizational, and report-writing skills. Knowledge of community dynamics, mobilization, public participation, and community education is essential.
  • Other: Must reside in the ward where the vacancy is listed. A valid driver’s license is an added advantage.

 



 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs analysis through community consultations.
  • Monitor community trends related to health, social development, and livelihood security.
  • Develop and maintain databases on community interventions and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to improve service delivery.
  • Facilitate community engagement and activation for democratic participation.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on community development activities.

 



 

 

Location
Positions are available in various wards across Tshwane, Westonaria, Emfuleni, Lesedi, Merafong, Randfontein, Krugersdorp, Ekurhuleni, and Johannesburg.
