Introduction

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a dedicated Store Cleaner for its Newcastle location. The primary responsibility is to maintain high standards of cleanliness across the store, including the shop floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and canteen areas.

Location: Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal
Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness across all store areas, including communal areas, restrooms, and the canteen.
• Adhere to Dis-Chem’s hygienic standards throughout the day.
• Develop and follow cleaning routines for thorough maintenance of cleanliness.
• Be available during store hours for necessary cleaning.
• Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment for each task.
• Follow health and safety guidelines, including displaying the wet floor sign when necessary.
• Provide friendly, professional customer assistance as required.

 

 

 

 

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 / Matric.
• Experience: At least 6 months of cleaning experience.
• Skills: Proficiency in English, customer service skills, and attention to detail.
• Availability: Willing and able to work retail hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual proficiency.
• Prior cleaning experience in a retail store.

 

 

 

 

Special Conditions

• Physically fit and able to perform tasks such as walking, standing, kneeling, lifting, and moving objects.
• Reliable transportation or residence close to the store.
• Clear criminal and credit records.
• South African citizenship.
