Introduction

The Operator (NPE) will be responsible for assembling non-electric delay initiation systems using manual assembly machinery. The role involves ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to specifications throughout the production process.

Key Accountabilities

• Assembly Tasks:
  • Crimping, blocking, coiling, sealing, tagging, and packaging of explosives.
  • Assembling products per specifications, operating multiple machines as required.
  • Quality checking all products to meet customer specifications.
• Inventory & Housekeeping:
  • Conduct stock counts on raw materials and maintain cleanliness in the assembly area.
• Measurement & Documentation:
  • Use measuring tools like Vernier calipers and record data on the lot traveler.
  • Adjust machine settings according to product specifications.
  • Update production graphs and daily reports.
• Additional Skills Needed:
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage shifts and overtime, work independently, and maintain teamwork.

Requirements

• Education:
  • Minimum Grade 12.
  • Maths and Science are advantageous.
• Experience:
  • 6 months of experience in explosives manufacturing; plant-specific experience is an added advantage.

• Strong attention to detail, integrity, good communication skills (English proficiency), and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
