Introduction

The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is looking for a diligent and dedicated individual to join their team as a Cleaner at the Beaufort West Community Day Centre in the Central Karoo District. This role is ideal for someone with experience in domestic and clinic cleaning services who values a well-maintained, hygienic environment.   • Salary: R131,265 – R154,626 per annum

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • General cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance (dusting, sweeping, polishing, scrubbing, mopping, and cleaning windows, walls, and waste disposal).
  • Managing waste and linen.
  • Using and storing cleaning supplies and equipment efficiently.
  • Providing optimal support to supervisors and team members.
  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic environment per departmental standards.

Requirements

  • Experience: Suitable experience in cleaning, particularly in clinic or domestic settings.
  • Skills:
    • Basic literacy and numeracy.
    • Ability to lift/move heavy objects and operate cleaning equipment.
    • Communication skills in at least two of the three official Western Cape languages.
    • Knowledge of waste handling, cleaning procedures, and departmental policies.
  • Licenses: Valid Code B/EC driver’s license and willingness to drive.
