Introduction
The Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform is seeking a dedicated Community Animal Health Worker to join our Veterinary Services team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about community health and animal care.

Salary: R155,148 – R182,757 per annum (Level 03)

 



 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 10/Standard 8
  • Experience in community dipping functions (advantageous)
  • Preference for local qualifying candidates

 



 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Count and record cattle for dipping
  • Ensure correct water levels for dipping and mix dipping materials
  • Monitor dipping procedures and clean the entrance and drainage areas post-dipping
  • Perform minor repairs on dipping tanks
  • Safeguard dipping materials
  • Report issues to the Animal Health Technician
  • Assist with vaccinations, treatments, and animal handling during castration and dehorning
