This role will play a critical part in ensuring top-notch customer service and accurate transaction handling at the point of sale. Minimum Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 / Matric
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in cashier or till operations
• Skills: MS Office proficiency, sound numerical skills, and basic customer service
• Other: Willingness to work retail hours and a strong command of the English language

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service at the point of sale
• Accurately process transactions according to company policies
• Maintain cash flow security, manage cash registers, and perform cash drops as required
• Assist customers with loyalty cards, sales, promotions, refunds, and exchanges
• Strictly adhere to Dis-Chem’s security protocols and customer service standards
• Report customer feedback to supervisors and monitor customer turnover rates
• Uphold Dis-Chem’s values, demonstrating professionalism and accountability at all times

 

 

 

Competencies

• Essential: Proficiency in handling cash registers, accuracy in processing sales, time management, and social awareness
• Advantageous: Knowledge of a third language

Special Conditions of Employment

• Must be willing to work retail hours
• Reliable transport or residence near the store
• South African citizenship and clear credit/criminal records
