Introduction
The Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform (DRDAR) is hiring Community Animal Health Workers for its Veterinary Services division. This permanent role offers an opportunity to engage directly in animal health management, particularly in rural dipping operations. Positions are available across the Amathole District in Butterworth, Ngqamakwe, Centane, and Elliodale.

Minimum Competencies & Requirements
- Education: Grade 10 / Standard 8
- Experience: No experience required, but related experience in community dipping functions is beneficial.
- Preference: Local candidates meeting the qualifications will receive preference.
Key Responsibilities
- Count and record cattle during dipping.
- Ensure appropriate water levels for dipping.
- Mix and monitor the dipping material and supervise dipping activities.
- Clean the entrance to the dipping kraal and drainage area after each session.
- Conduct minor repairs on dipping tanks as needed.
- Safeguard dipping materials and report defects or issues requiring attention to the Animal Health Technician.
- Assist in animal vaccinations, treatments, and during procedures like castration and dehorning.
