Duties & Responsibilities

1. Customer Service:
   • Greet customers with a friendly smile and prioritize customer satisfaction.
   • Address customer questions and concerns courteously and promptly.
2. Cash Handling:
   • Operate tills, ensuring counters are clean, and the tills are well-maintained.
   • Count float and ensure adequate change in tills, and replenish paper and ribbon in printers as needed.
3. Stock and Cleanliness:
   • Restock resale area displays, fridges, and shelves daily.
   • Keep the front-of-house area clean and organized.
4. Transaction Accuracy:
   • Begin shifts by counting cash drawers to verify amounts and ensure adequate change.
   • Complete daily cash-ups and related paperwork accurately, recording any discrepancies for accountability.
   • Issue receipts, provide correct change, and address any discrepancies as per the agreement.
5. Support Tasks:
   • Assist in the smooth operation of the front of house and help back of house with orders when needed.
   • Help with additional tasks during quieter periods, including cleaning duties.
   • Prepare a daily sales analysis and perform an end-of-shift cash-up with the Admin Assistant/Manager.

Skills and Competencies

• Clerical Skills: Enjoys clerical and administrative tasks.
• Money Handling: Confident in handling cash and maintaining cash control.
• POS System Skills: Proficient in operating point-of-sale systems.
• Accuracy and Speed: Able to work quickly and accurately, especially under pressure.
• Integrity and Reliability: Honest, detail-oriented, and organized.
• Customer Interaction: Friendly and helpful, with a customer-first attitude.

Qualifications

• Education: Grade 12/Matric is required.
• Experience: 3-5 years in a similar cashier role.
