Requirements

• Experience: Appropriate experience in a large-scale industrial food service environment.
• Skills:
  • Basic reading, writing, and numerical abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of mass production cooking and therapeutic diets.
  • Familiarity with hygiene, safety procedures, and HACCP principles.
  • Ability to interpret recipes, use scales, and perform basic calculations.
  • Sound organizing abilities and capacity to work under pressure.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce normal and therapeutic diets.
• Weigh, dish, and distribute food and beverages for patients.
• Receive, store, and manage stock in the food service unit.
• Adhere to hygiene, safety procedures, and operational policies.
• Clean work areas, utensils, and industrial equipment.
• Provide informal training for new employees.

 

 

 

Job Conditions

• Work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Be physically fit to lift heavy objects and stay on your feet all day.
• Dress in accordance with departmental specifications.

Remuneration

Salary: R131,265 – R154,626 per annum
Includes service benefits:

• 13th cheque
• Employer’s contribution to pension fund
• Housing and medical aid allowance
