Job Description

  • Ability and willingness to work shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and overtime.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects and being on your feet for extended periods.
  • Appropriate supervisory experience in a large-scale industrial Food Service Unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order, receive, store, and issue all food provisions and stock in the foodservice unit.
  • Supervise food pre-preparation and the production of normal and therapeutic diets.
  • Oversee the weighing, dishing, and distribution of food to various wards.
  • Ensure hygiene, proper use, and maintenance of equipment, as well as adherence to occupational health and safety principles.
  • Enforce compliance with prescripts, elementary control measures, and standard operational procedures.
  • Manage human and financial resources, stock control, and keep records of food statistics.

 



 

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • General Education and Training Certificate (ABET, AET4/Grade 9).
  • Relevant experience in supervisory roles within a large-scale industrial Food Service Unit.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of production and cooking methods for normal and therapeutic diets.
  • Understanding of hygiene, occupational health, HACCP, and safety principles.
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal relations, and computer literacy in MS Office.
  • Writing skills and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Annual salary: R 183 279 – R 215 892, plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer’s pension fund contribution, housing and medical aid allowance).
