Introduction

Nedbank is seeking a Relationship Manager: Card Acquiring to drive direct sales and grow our acquiring market share. The ideal candidate will be responsible for marketing Nedbank’s omni-channel acquiring products to tier-one and tier-two clients while ensuring solutions align with client needs. This role requires a strong sales mindset, knowledge of card-present and card-not-present solutions, and experience with stand-alone, integrated, and e-commerce payment systems.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Acquire new-to-Nedbank clients and drive the full sales process from lead generation to onboarding.
  • Network within Nedbank’s product teams to grow the bank’s acquiring market share externally.
  • Maintain and develop a healthy sales pipeline of potential clients.
  • Cross-sell and up-sell acquiring solutions to existing Nedbank clients.
  • Meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets as per the business strategy.
  • Educate clients on payment solutions by presenting product benefits and features.
  • Ensure all client details and applications are accurate and compliant with banking requirements.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with clients and key stakeholders through regular engagement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, understanding client needs and offering tailored solutions.
  • Resolve client queries promptly while ensuring clients are kept informed throughout the process.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to enhance client experience and streamline service delivery.

Risk & Compliance

  • Stay updated on industry regulations, compliance policies, and financial best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant client documentation for product applications.
  • Follow business procedures and governance standards to mitigate risk.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diploma / National First Degree (preferred)

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in Card Acquiring Sales
  • Proven experience selling Card Acquiring Solutions to corporate clients
  • Strong cold-calling and lead generation skills (Hunter Mentality)
  • 2+ years in Relationship Management
