Transnet is seeking a Desktop Support Analyst to provide technical support across its pipeline operations. This role serves as a single point of contact for end-users, ensuring optimal performance of IT systems, networks, and devices. The successful candidate will support hardware, software, servers, networking, and multimedia systems to ensure minimal downtime and efficient business operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues
  • Ensure uptime of network, internet, email, and user access systems
  • Install, configure, diagnose, and repair IT equipment
  • Maintain and support servers and storage systems
  • Manage backups for user data and systems
  • Implement and maintain ICT security measures
  • Support printers, video conferencing systems, and boardroom equipment
  • Ensure availability of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and remote access systems
  • Manage ICT equipment inventory and software licenses
  • Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and procurement of ICT equipment
  • Monitor third-party service providers and escalate issues when required
  • Execute ICT-related projects and system improvements
  • Provide user guidance and ICT tips
  • Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3-year ICT Diploma
  • A+ Certification
  • N+ Certification

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in desktop support or IT support environment

Key Competencies & Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting skills (hardware and software)
  • Knowledge of networking, servers, and IT infrastructure
  • Ability to manage multiple IT systems and technologies
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Working Conditions

  • Office and site-based IT support environment
  • May require travel between sites and after-hours support

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: Market-related (Transnet Grade H2X)
